All Adwords display URLs lower-cased?
While casually searching on Google on Dec 11th around 9:00 PM EST I noticed something odd. All of the display URLs were switched to lower-case. Some advertisers will strategically capitalize words within their display URL in order to increase attention to their ads and improved Click-through-rates.
For example, an advertiser like Snow Blowers Direct may set their display URL to SnowBlowersDirect.com rather than utilizing the all lower-cased snowblowersdirect.com
Google may be tinkering and this may go away soon. On the otherhand, Google may force a lower-cased setting for Adwords display URLs.
I’d be interested in seeing if any other users are noticing the same thing in their SERPs.

Yes I have had this one my PC only for the last two weeks or so.
We are an SEM agency yet only my computer is seeing the lowercase urls.
Its weird because my pc also saw the new purple ad colours and google isntant before all others in the office too.
Our theory is that Google is attempting to make sponsored links look more like organic listings in a bid to blur the lines between organic and paid listings and thereforne increase CTRs on AdWords ads.
Just a theory though…
I see ppc marketers around the world scrambling to rethink the spliut testing they have done to date if this change becomes permanent.
We’ll see hey.
